“Digging Out in the Heartland” is the fourth recording of original music by award winning Milwaukee singer songwriter John Stano. Produced by Mike Hoffmann, (Willy Porter, The Spanic Boys) the record is inspired by life in the Midwest and features John’s unique song writing, stellar rack harmonica work and expressive vocals. Even serious topics such as break-ups, mortality and political injustice are treated with characteristic wry humor. Several great guest musicians round out this collection of varied tempo folk ballads, blues and Americana. JOHN STANO BIOGRAPHY
Singer/songwriter John Stano’s sound is a distinctive blend of acoustic and slide guitar, harmonica, expressive vocals and insightful songwriting developed over many years of performance and study. He sometimes adds a little mandolin, cigar box guitar or banjo to the mix as well. His style can be described as a combination of folk, blues and Americana.
